Dr. Takahiro Ito, assistant professor of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, presents a copy of a recent publication to Dr. Stephen Wright (center) and Dolores Wright (right), benefactors of the Heather C. Wright Cancer Research Fund that helped support the research.

Stephan George, a BMB major and undergraduate researcher in the laboratory of Professor Lance Wells at the CCRC, has been awarded a Mid-Term Foundation Fellowship from the University of Georgia. This prestigious award will support his education and enable him to expand his horizons.

After 30 years of dedicated service as an accountant in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Mildred Sparks has decided to move on to new pastures. We will sorely miss her! Before she left, she showed off some of her connections as a true UGA football fan. Go Dawgs!

Kawanda Foster, a Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Ph.D. trainee in the laboratory of Professor Mike Terns, received a prestigious F31 pre-doctoral fellowship from the NIH. Congratulations to Kawanda for her achievement!

Harry Dailey, professor emeritus of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and of Microbiology, was recently elected to serve on the Advisory Board of the Center for Iron and Heme Disorders at the University of Utah, an NIH/NIDDK U54 Center of Excellence in Hematology.
