Young Scholars in Biochemistry Seminar Series

The UGA Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is pleased to announce the Young Scholars in Biochemistry Seminar Series. This series provides senior postdoctoral fellows an opportunity to present their research and engage with faculty, postdocs, and students.

Senior postdoctoral fellows working on any aspect of biochemistry, molecular biology, or biochemistry education are encouraged to apply for the seminar. Applications are welcomed from individuals with a broad range of experiences, particularly those researching health disparities. We will select two applicants each year to visit the university in person.
During the visit, invited speakers will present their research in a departmental seminar and meet with faculty, postdocs, and students. They will also have the opportunity to receive feedback in a chalk talk about their future research plans and teaching approach. The department will cover travel and lodging expenses. The goals of the seminar series are to: 1) provide senior postdoctoral fellows with a platform to showcase their research and practice interviews for future career opportunities, and 2) foster collaboration and strengthen community within science and research.

To apply, please email the following information as a single PDF file to medlocklab@uga.edu, with the subject "Seminar Applicant."
