Antavius Cain, BCMB graduate student in the Krahn lab, has been using his personal story to inspire students who have not considered graduate school or believed it was in reach.
Colby Ruiz, a former student of Professor Walter Schmidt, was recently included in the 2025 Alumni "40 under 40” class.
Professor Michael Adams and Associate Research Scientist Gerrit Schut are authors on an article titled, "An electron-bifurcating 'plug' to a protein nanowire in tungsten-dependent aldehyde detoxification," published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Scientists.

Saanvikha Saravanan is the 2025 winner of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Faculty Award for Academic Excellence. The award recognizes a graduating senior majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for outstanding academic accomplishments. She also received an A.B.
The 2025 Sisodia-Patel Prize for Outstanding Research by an Undergraduate in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Graduation was awarded to Yeongseo Son, who also earned a B.A. degree in Anthropology and Certificate in Immunology.
