Angie Stockton, academic program coordinator, retired on July 31 after 40 years of service to BCMB. She was the longest-serving staff member in Franklin College. Angie was an integral part of the department, helping countless numbers of undergraduate and graduate students.

The Faculty Award for Academic Excellence recognizes a graduating senior majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for outstanding academic accomplishments.

The Sisodia-Patel Prize for Research in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology recognizes a graduating senior majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology who intends to obtain a PhD and pursue a career in research and will attend graduate school in the coming year.

Foundation Fellow Widener Norris graduated with a degree in biochemistry, a minor in Chinese, and a certificate in legal studies.

Gael Hernandez, a 2026 BCMB graduate and student in Adam Barb's lab, received a Presidential Award of Excellence.
