Student earns fellowship in cancer research

A graduate student in the department of biochemistry and molecular biology recently earned a fellowship in cancer research.

Ruochong Wang of Dr. Takahiro Ito's lab earned the Grimes Family Distinguished Graduate Fellowship in Cancer Research. According to the Institute of Bioinformatics, the fellowship "will provide academic year support to a graduate student in Franklin College majoring in the Natural Sciences working on the area of cancer research."

By receiving this fellowship, Wang is considered to be in "good academic standing, have innovative ideas, a strong work ethic and a creative mind," according to the website.
