University of Georgia senior Claire Bunn will continue her studies in lung biology this fall as one of 23 Americans selected for the 2022 class of Gates Cambridge Scholars.

Ying Xu, a professor of Biochemistry and the Institute of Bioinformatics, was recently elected a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the highest distinction of the organization.

The BFF is currently accepting applications for the level of Research Professional II to assist with projects in protein purification.

BMB faculty member Dr. Belen Cassera is the co-leader of a research team that recently received a $3.7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health. The grant will be used to test two new drug candidates to treat malaria.

Belen Cassera spent her summer as the newest member of UGA's Innovation Fellows, a program that aims to encourage faculty and staff of the University of Georgia to pursue their interest in commercialization and product development.
