Image: Joshua Weiss, first year graduate student in the Krahn lab in biochemistry and molecular biology, received a $1,000 grant for outreach in the community. Through this grant Joshua went out, with the support of his fellow graduate students and PI, to middle and high schools in Clarke and Jackson county. He provided an inspiring lecture on synthetic biology and brought a hands-on lab experience to their classroom. The experience was one to remember for the students, and he has already been asked to come back next year!
