Grace Watterson Wins 2024 Sisodia-Patel Prize

The 2024 Sisodia-Patel Prize for Outstanding Research by an Undergraduate in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Graduation was awarded to Grace Watterson, who also minored in Statistics. Graces's research was conducted in the lab of Professor Natarajan Kannan in BMB, and she presented her work at a kinase conference in the UK, where she got to meet her science idols and other young scientists. Grace graduated with a GPA of 3.85 and will begin the PhD program in Cancer Biology at the University of Pennsylvania in the Fall. The award consists of a certificate and a $1000 cash prize funded through the generosity of Dr. Sangram S. Sisodia, who earned his Ph.D. degree in the department, and honors his mentor, Professor Emeritus Gordhan Patel. Dr. Sisodia is currently the Thomas A. Reynolds Sr. Family Professor of Neurobiology at the University of Chicago.
