Erin Dolan, professor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, has received a 2024 Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professorship for her excellence in teaching. Dolan was recognized for prioritizing students learning science by thinking scientifically, making scientific careers attainable via research mentoring, and scaling access to research opportunities via course-based research. The Meigs Professorship communicates the University of Georgia’s commitment to excellence in teaching, the value placed on the learning experiences of our students, and the centrality of instruction to the University's mission. It is named for Josiah Meigs, who presided over the University’s first class of graduates.
