The Bioexpression and Fermentation Facility is pleased to announce the addition of new capabilities for its training lab.  TangenX recently donated a system capable of using 0.1 m2 membranes.  This system will be used for training students in the use of tangential flow filtration which is widely used in bioprocessing.  This system adds to the already wide array of equipment available in the training lab located in the Davison Life Sciences Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia.  The lab, which is separate from BFF operations, is used for training of undergraduate and graduate students in protein expression and purification.  Currently BCMB4030/6030 is taught to undergraduates in the Biochemistry department as well as students in the Masters in Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing program.
